Jonathan Bayeff specializes in integrated audits and SOX compliance for publicly traded companies. With a strong background in risk assessments, control design and implementation, and refining testing approaches, he is committed to helping businesses navigate the complex SOX regulatory environment.

Jonathan began his career in New York City in an external audit capacity with PwC. He gained invaluable experience in risk assurance through a slew of integrated audits (404b).  The majority of his experience came from IT controls testing for Fortune 500 financial institutions.  When Jonathan moved to Austin, Texas, he joined a boutique firm named Holtzman Partners in an Internal Audit/SOX capacity.  He broadened his expertise by shifting from IT only to BP SOX and worked exclusively with Medical Technology, Manufacturing, and Technology companies.  After over half a decade on the advisory side, he joined MGO as an external audit lead for BP.  He audited 404a/b clients in complex and emerging industries such as cannabis and navigated challenging regulatory boundaries.  With his specialized experience and technical background, Jonathan co-founded New Wave Advisory.

Jonathan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in both New York and Texas, as well as a Certified information Systems Auditors (CISA). Jonathan is passionate about fostering long-term relationships with clients and takes great pride in the work that is delivered.

Omar Rahman is a Senior Partner with New Wave Advisory. He specializes in IT SOX, audit, risk, and compliance for medium-sized to enterprise level companies.  With a strong background in Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, he helps his clients establish a strong IT control foundation off of which a SOX environment is built.  

Omar began his career with KPMG where he gained his foundational knowledge around SOX business and IT processes. As he progressed in his career, Omar specialized in IT SOX audit/advisory engagements. He became a thought leader within KPMG developing white papers and trainings for the firm.  Omar was the lead auditor for several engagements covering SOX 404a/404b, COBIT, NIST, Third-Party management and HIPAA technical safe guards. He has 15+ years of experience in BP/IT advisory including readiness and implementation services.  Omar founded Rahm Advisory, an IT consulting firm specializing in external audit support prior to joining New Wave Advisory. 

Omar has provided external audit, internal audit and real-time system assessments, IT risk assessments and compliance services to multiple clients across various industries. He prides himself on being a ‘firefighter’ and coming into any situation and finding the way forward and executing.

Jonn Gagnon specializes in IT controls testing, cybersecurity, and advisory for SOX 404, SOC 1/2/3, FedRAMP, NIST, ISO, HIPAA, and GDPR, and SOC clients. With a strong background in risk assessments, control design, implementation, and streamlining testing approaches.

 Jonn began his career Austin, TX, with Holtzman Partners and currently servers in the Austin, TX, and Denver, CO markets. He is best known for his ability to solve technical SOC, regulatory compliance, IT general controls (ITGCs), and application controls (ITACs) issues and excels at helping companies understand complex compliance requirements.

Additionally, Jonn has experience working with an array of ERP packages (Epicor, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, etc.), databases (Oracle, SQL, etc.), platform-as-a-service/infrastructure-as-a-service (Azure, AWS, and Google), and operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows, etc.) for clients in the biotech, click-through and video advertising revenue, financial services, fintech, manufacturing, and technology industries.

Jonn has a bachelor’s in accounting and computer information technology from St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. Jonn holds the Certified Information Systems Auditors (CISA) certification.

Ed Wang is a Managing Director with New Wave Advisory. He specializes in SOX compliance and internal audits. He has a strong background in all aspects of SOX compliance, including risk assessments and scoping, walkthroughs, documentation, controls implementation, controls testing, deficiency evaluation, and reporting. Ed also has a strong background in internal audits, utilizing data and technology for value-add results.

Prior to joining New Wave Advisory, Ed spent 13 years with KPMG in their Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk group, with the last four (4) years as a Director. During his time at KPMG, he led teams of two (2) to eight (8) team members with a focus on SOX compliance and internal audits through both full outsource and co-source engagements. Ed has successfully managed multiple SOX implementation and recurring SOX projects, led the seamless transition of multiple internal audit functions, and is known for his support of his teams and his client focused service.

Ed holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), specializing in Finance, an undergraduate degree in International Business with a minor in Accounting, and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
